The Producer
St Kilda wines are produced by De Bortoli Wines, based in Bilbul in the Riverina region of New South Wales. The company is owned by the De Bortoli family and is one of the largest privately owned companies in Australia. De Bortoli Wines was established in 1928 by Vittorio & Giuseppina De Bortoli and rapidly expanded under the direction of their dynamic son, the late Deen De Bortoli. Today the company is in the capable hands of the third generation.

From its humble beginnings more than 75 years ago, the De Bortoli Bilbul Winery is today a substantial operation being one of the Riverina's largest, employing approximately 200 staff. There are 8 winemakers employed at Bilbul, including Senior White Winemaker (John Coughlan) and Senior Red Winemaker (Julie Mortlock).
In 2009 the winery crushed over 80,000 tons. All aspects of winemaking are covered, from vineyard to bottle. The company has more than 300ha of its own vineyards in the region and also purchases from contract growers.
The Wines
The St Kilda brand was founded on the premise of producing wines of incredible value from premium South East Australian fruit. These are wines that exhibit fresh, fruit-driven characters that are balanced and enjoyable, at a very affordable price.
Why Screw-Cap?
A screw-cap closure has been chosen over traditional cork, to ensure the wine’s bright fresh flavors are retained. This also ensures a consistent product every time, free of cork taint. Furthermore, the wine can be conveniently opened, re-sealed and kept for one or more days, making this the ideal wine for on-premise glass pours and everyday consumer use!
